DESIGN PROCESS

How we work

The following process is the way we normally work. However we understand that each project is different and may require some or all of these stages.

Initial Consultation

Our first meeting to discuss your garden is free. During that consultation we will look at your garden space and broadly talk through your requirements. We endeavour to provide solutions for your garden whatever your budget.

Survey and Establishing a Brief

If you decide to proceed with Carterwoods then we will arrange a second meeting. We will carry out a survey of your garden and discuss all of your requirements in order to establish a detailed brief. A copy of the brief will be sent to you for approval before we start work on the design.

Design and Costings

The design process will happen in two stages, first we will draw a draft plan of the design, which will include everything that has been discussed with an opportunity for changes. Then the final design will include a detailed plan to scale plus any changes. At this time the costings for the build can also be indicated. If you are satisfied with the quote then we can agree on a schedule of work to get the build underway.

The Build

Throughout the garden build process one or both of us will be on site the whole time. We take great care when working to ensure that there is as little inconvenience to the client as possible.

Planting

Every garden has its unique feel and we approach the planting with this in mind. A detailed planting plan is usually produced towards the end of the build, taking into account type of soil, site conditions, aspect and your personal preferences. Upon approval we will source the plants and plant them out.
